Miss Belize World 07

Hearing my name announced as Miss Belize World 07 in July 29 was a moment I will
never forget. It was a lifelong dream of mine to represent Belize at a very prestigious
International pageant and on that special evening, my dream came true. My year as Miss
Belize World has been and will continue to be one with much to remember by the end of
my reign. Just hours after being crowned, I flew to San Pedro to see the Miss Costa Maya
International Pageant. In August as part of my prize I went to New York to be a part of
Belize New York Park Fest. Carnival 06 was a blast as I got to honor our contract with one
of our sponsors by riding on their float along with Miss Belize Universe. I was a guest at
Queen of the Bay 2006, attended the Official Opening ceremonies and two Float Parades
for the 21st, Belize City and in Orange Walk.
I was a presenter at the annual Belizean Poet Recognition Award event held at the Bliss
for the performing Arts and got to read poetry to the kids. I have been very fortunate to
meet and sign autographs and take photos with many Belizean kids and families at our
Miss Belize booth September 10 and 11th at the Municipal Fair and also on the 18th of
September Chamber of Commerce Expo. During the Christmas holiday, I assisted the
Belize Red Cross in Orange Walk with their annual children’s party which caters to less
fortunate children. Recently, I was a presenter at the 6th Annual Taste of Belize and a
guest on Fiesta Radio Station and CTV3 special interview.
I recently graduated with honors from the University of Belize with a Bachelor’s Degree in
English Education. On June 16 2007, I assisted the Belize Red Cross with their first
annual radiothon for hurricane preparedness, HIV Aids education among other wonderful
services of this organization and I am about to share my expertise with the Belize Red
Cross (BRC) in their talk show on More FM, educating our youths on HIV Aids, teen age
pregnancy and other issues plaguing our society. I will also be functioning as a web
journalist/spokesperson for BRC.
My Miss Belize World Schedule is an intense one filled with every faucets of pageantry,
from make-up classes, lots of reading, gym, to learning basic Chinese, among other very
important pageants requirements.
Participating in the Miss World 2007 competition this year Sanya, China and representing
my country of Belize, is an incredible source of pride for me. I hope that I will be able to
count on you to support me through this incredible journey and to help me make it a
positive one for Belize.
